Algoshield combats the vigorous growth and disproportionate reproduction of green algae in ponds and biotopes. Algoshield is also very efficient both in the prevention and elimination of blue algae. Vigorous reproduction of algae is a symptom of a biological imbalance. This irregularity is caused by an excessive nutrient content. As a result, substances like phosphate and nitrate, which are normally non-toxic, may eventually damage the habitat of your fish and plants. Algoshield does not kill algae through the use of strong chemicals but rather stems their growth. Through its beneficial combination of active substances, it keeps the algae and the damaging effects of their metabolism in check, and thus supports the biological equilibrium of your pond. This puts an end to the high consumption of carbonate hardness and strong fluctuations in pH-value. Regular use of Algoshield effectively prevents the growth of new algae and establishes the preconditions for a healthy biological balance in your pond.

Recommended dosage
It is recommended to use the lowest dose rate which is usually sufficient to achieve the desired effect. In case of higher algal density or depending on water quality (e.g. water with high soiling) it might be required to use a higher dose rate. To control growth of algae, add a single dose of 50 - 60 ml per 1000 L pond water. To specifically control growth of green algae, add a single dose of 50 - 60 ml per 1000 L pond water. To specificaliy control growth of blue green algae (cyanobacteria), add 3.9 - 25 ml per 1000 L pond water per day on five successive days. If necessary, repeat after 2 - 3 weeks or after a water change.
How to use
Only apply to artificial/man-made water bodies with an impermeable liner. Do not use the product over or in the immediate vicinity of surface water. Use only when assessment of algae infestation and pond parameters indicate, that all non-chemical algae control measures, e.g. (partial) water exchange, mechanical algae removal and regular filter cleaning are not sufficient to give effective algae control. The product has to be distributed equally in the whole pond (e.g. by diluting the required amount of product with pond water in a watering can prior to application).
